UPDATE - 6/5/07 - The general meeting at Karar's City Limits went very well. We had around 30 to 40 people attend and share their financial experiences. Regrettably, some businesses have seen losses from anywhere between 30% and 65%. Famous Sam's in Casa Grande "were lucky to earn $300 for lunch; previously, we were pulling in anywhere from $1200 to $1500." Word has spread in the Casa Grande area that 3 or 4 establishments are getting ready to close their doors.
Alfonso Larriva, owner of Metro Sportz Bar & Grill in Phoenix, as well as 3 others, have reported the lawsuit against him initiated by Terry Goddard, Attorney General of Arizona. Larriva has mitigated from more than $200,000 in fines and penalties to less than $400. Larriva and his attorneys are pushing forward to eliminate the $400 in fines. Larriva's success in this particular case will be a clear signal to the executive branch of Arizona. The Prop. 201 law is untenable.
